Feedback on the Proposed Alternatives
On February 12, 2025, as part of the Redwood Life Precise Plan and EIR process, the City hosted an in-person community workshop focused on a review of potential alternatives to the proposed Longfellow development project. These alternatives consider building design and site plan changes, as well as potential park, open space, and amenities configurations. The primary purpose of the workshop was to share these alternatives, explain how they seek to address community input, and receive feedback from the public. An online survey was also available through March 7, 2025 to collect input through virtual activities that mirrored the in person workshop.

Thank you for joining the Community Workshop from 5:15 - 7:15 pm at the Redwood Shores Branch Library - Community Room. Doors opened at 5:15 pm with a presentation that began at 5:45pm. At our initial workshop, a description of the City-led planning and environmental review process that constitutes the "Redwood Life Precise Plan" effort was presented. At this meeting, the City teamed confirmed that we clearly understand the concerns and questions that the community has about the proposed redevelopment of Redwood Life, and provided an overview of the analysis that will be conducted by the City on potential environmental impacts and community benefits that are currently proposed. Most importantly, we will collaboratively establish the principles and outcomes that should guide any future redevelopment of Redwood Life.

community engagement plan
The City is leading a comprehensive planning effort and environmental review to assess the impacts and benefits of a proposed redevelopment of the Redwood Life campus. Our aim is to ensure that residents, businesses, and decision makers understand the trade-offs associated with different development options so they can meaningfully weigh in on how the area should evolve to best meet the desired outcomes of Redwood Shores and the larger Redwood City community.
