Join us to guide the future of Redwood Life!
The City is leading a comprehensive planning effort and environmental review to assess the impacts and benefits of a proposed redevelopment of the Redwood Life campus. Our aim is to ensure that residents, businesses, and decision makers understand the trade-offs associated with different development options so they can meaningfully weigh in on how the area should evolve to best meet the desired outcomes of the Redwood Shores and greater Redwood City community.
NOTICE OF PREPARATION (NOP)
A Notice of Preparation (NOP)—one of the first steps in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) process—has been prepared for the Redwood Life development. The NOP notifies agencies and the public that an EIR will be prepared for the Redwood Life development and invites input on the environmental topics that should be studied.
SCOPING MEETING
Redwood City will be conducting a public Scoping Meeting on September 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in person at the Council Chambers, City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA 94063. The meeting will also be available remotely (to observe the meeting only) by Zoom Teleconference here. The scoping meeting will include a brief presentation of the project to be addressed in the EIR and will provide interested members of the public with an opportunity to provide input on the scope of the EIR.
Revised Planning Application
The applicant, Longfellow Real Estate Partners, submitted to the City a revised planning application for the Redwood Life campus. The revised planning application includes an updated project description and summary, site plan, grading and drainage plans, site sections, and more. The planning application aligns with Alternative 2 and will be evaluated in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR).
The planning application is available for review here.
A public EIR scoping meeting is tentatively scheduled for the Planning Commission on September 2, 2025. Visit this project website (PlanRedwoodLife.org) for up to date information on the project.
